Raf Simons and Fred Perry keep their collaborative relationship moving forward with yet another new capsule to take note of. Both labels have been instrumental in elevating the contemporary menswear space as standalone imprints, however, touch on a whole new design dynamic when paired alongside one another. Together, the duo often elect a swarm of closet staples to inflect; conforming to this very practice yet again for the forthcoming Spring/Summer 2020 season.

As a referential starting point, photojournalistic works from noted lensman, Gavin Watson, underscore a rash of archival Fred Perry pieces, which later pass through Simons’s imaginative filter. As a result, an assemblage of hoodies, T-shirts, long-sleeved crewnecks, and polos are met with a trucker-style jacket, cable-knit pullover and a button-down shirt, all of which give rise to co-branding cues from both sides. A good portion of the range gives prominence to editorial-style imagery pulled from Watson’s expansive vault. For those unfamiliar with the photographer’s established oeuvre, his penchant for subcultural riffs from the ‘70s and ‘80s provide a nostalgic snapshot of pop-culture’s earliest influencers.
