Streetwear heavyweight Palace is moving on with its planned Winter rollout, unveiling a festive campaign chock full of intriguing surprises. In just this past year alone, the brand has shown a willingness to partner alongside a host of individualistic entities, each of whom are guided by their own creative principles.
As part of its forthcoming Holiday 2020 collection, Palace, oddly enough, singled out revered English playwright William Shakespeare as a creative focal point. For instance, a pair of two-toned varsity jackets highlight a series of Shakespeare-centric accents, including a headshot of the famed raconteur sitting dead center along the rear, with the word “Londinium” placed directly underneath and a inscribed poem resting along the right front chest. Elsewhere, another large image of the English dramatist informs a black pullover with the phrase “Olde England” stamped on the back.
The new offering also houses a pair of cooperative drops from some familiar friends. Long-time collaborators adidas was brought in to fashion a bold yellow Firebird tracksuit, complete with Tri-Ferg logos and Three Stripe emblems imbued throughout. Last but certainly not least, Palace and fellow UK brand Suburban Bliss converged on a horde of T-shirts, hoodies, trousers and accessories, many of which make use of kitschy graphics and subversive phrases.
Palace’s new Holiday 2020 collection will be available online starting on November 27. In case you missed it earlier, Stüssy teamed up with a handful of noted designers for its 40th anniversary collection.
