When Virgil Abloh first teased Off-White™‘s collaborative “The Ten” collection alongside Nike, sneakerheads the world over marveled at how the noted designer reengineered such a diverse catalog of goods. A huge fan of the sportswear titan’s archival vault, Abloh chose to rework a swarm of old-school silhouettes, one of which was the infamous Air Jordan 1. The throwback basketball runner has since hit the scene in a brand new colorway, which we will now take a closer look at.
An eclectic textural mishmash comprised of exposed mesh, smooth leather and refined suede swarms the upper, with a stitched-on side panel Swoosh grabbing the lion’s share of the attention. Bright pops of “Canary Yellow,” and clean white mixes in with subtle hits of cream to inform the shoe’s expressive palette, doing well to highlight the co-branding cues imbued throughout. Jordan Brand’s signature Air Jordan emblem screams out from the ankle region, with Off-White™’s industrial-style “AIR” logo stamped on the midsole. Sitting down below are additional punches of white juxtaposed against a healthy dose of yellow to form a two-toned midsole/outsole combo.
The all-new Off-White™ x Air Jordan 1 “Canary Yellow” is rumored to drop sometime in the near future. In other sneaker news, Nike recently teased images of its new Air Max 2090.
