Since breaking out from under the larger NEPENTHES collective years ago, NEEDLES has leaned mightily on vintage styling sensibilities from the ’60s and ‘70s to pull creative influence from. The Japanese-based sub-label is back with a new set of visuals for its upcoming Fall/Winter 2020 range.
A kaleidoscope of prints and textiles are utilized throughout, forming an assortment of looks that marry a cocktail of subcultural styles. One model was shot sporting a leather varsity jacket sitting overtop a purple button-down shirt/striped trouser combo, while another caught the eye wearing a deep navy track top juxtaposed against an elongated check-printed skirt. In typical Daiki Suzuki fashion, proportions drape off the body with relaxed silhouette shapes underscored all around.
The capsule’s color palette banks on a full spectrum of hues, ranging from moody blues and deep purples to warm reds and muted greens. Low-flung lapels, sharp butterfly collars and flowy bell bottoms do well to showcase the brand’s unwavering devotion to old-school heritage riffs–as seen strewn all across the visual display.
The full NEEDLES Fall/Winter 2020 collection will make its way to the label’s online store sometime later this year. Be sure to check back for details. In case you missed it earlier, check out how 1017 ALYX 9SM closed out Paris Fashion Week.
