To coincide with the arrival of Paris Fashion Week, French retailer, Legacy Store, will be holding a special installation with Modernica appointed as the event’s artistic focal point. Followers of the noted furniture purveyor are more than familiar with its Case Study Furniture Shell Chair, having already witnessed a myriad of transformations by some of the game’s most influential tastemakers.

Over the past 30 years, Modernica has formed partnerships with artists in every facet of mainstream pop-culture. A quick look back at the brand’s storied archive, goes on to flaunt projects with such names as Vans, CLOT, Shepard Fairey, Stüssy, Anti Social Social Club, and Diamond Supply Co., amongst a host of others. The week-long exhibition is an exploration into Modernica’s historic vault, pulling out a horde of expressive variants spanning the last 10 years.

Statement prints from a handful of street culture icons can be seen blanketing the household staple, from BAPE’s customary ABC Camo pattern and colette’s blue dot logo to Takashi Murakami’s Superflat caricatures and Keith Herring’s graffiti-style figures.

For those interested, Legacy Store will hold the Modernica exhibit at the Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet’s in Paris from January 13 to 18. In other design news, Serving the People curated a digital exhibition with works from several noteworthy artists.
