As its name so poignantly suggests, friends-and-family drops are reserved for tight-knit, inner circle-type individuals of those celebrating a special release. KITH looks to break this close-looped exclusivity cycle by offering a chance to secure a pair of collaborative KITH x Nike Air Force 1s.
Teased by Ronnie Fieg himself towards the tail end of 2019, the specially sanctioned Swoosh runners were never meant to hit the public for general release, however, five of the original 100 pairs will be raffled off for charity. In efforts to help curb the current Coronavirus pandemic, a handful of KITH employees have stepped up to the proverbial plate in relinquishing their personal pairs to directly benefit DirectRelief’s COVID-19 response fund.
Clad in clean white leather up top, hits of deep navy accentuate the inner collar, with subtle splashes of red and green livening up the tongue tab and lateral side, respectively. Other areas of interest include the side Swoosh emblems containing KITH’s box logo circulating in a repeating pattern, not to mention the gold-tip lace dubraes. Lastly, the AF1s signature cored-out midsole rounds out the thematic design.
For those interested, the raffle will take place between May 14 and May 17 via KITH’s web store. Each ticket will run you $10 USD with a 100-ticket limit set for all. In other collaborative sneaker news, COMME des GARÇONS and Nike dropped a print-heavy Dunk Low.
