Although no longer linked to Japanese mainstay, BAPE, NIGO still remains deeply entrenched within the larger streetwear collective, most notably through his HUMAN MADE imprint. The latter has aligned with adidas several times over the past few months, co-creating a slew of sneaker silhouettes, including the Solar HU Glide ST, Solar HU Glide and the collaborative Pharrell Hu NMD alongside long-time friend, Pharrell Williams.
HUMAN MADE and adidas keep their relationship moving forward with news of yet another classic sneaker rework. The iconic Stan Smith is now the subject in question, boasting a series of design riffs taken from the original, while simultaneously giving rise to NIGO’s creative prowess. A clean white leather base informs the upper, with bold splashes of green found on the tongue tab and heel counter adding subtle color contrast. Replacing the customary Three Stripes graphic is HUMAN MADE’s signature heart emblem with a trio of lines stemming out from the top. Other points of interest include mini heart cut-outs bolstering the medial side wall.
Set to a retail price of $135 USD, the new HUMAN MADE x adidas Stan Smith will make its way online come January 25. In case you missed it earlier, Dior and Daniel Arsham recently came together on a comprehensive SS20 collection.
