The collaborative venture taking place between Virgil Abloh and Futura signifies a move within modern pop-culture; an exploratory meeting place between luxury fashion and contemporary art. Such a dynamic encourages designers to utilize the expressive language levied by artists to differentiate their own garment creations, while the reverse provides an alternate avenue in which the artist can showcase his/her designs. Playfully teased over the last few weeks, we’re now granted a better look at some signature pieces from the Futura 2000 x Off-White™ capsule.
With resident sharpshooter, Thibaut Grevet, positioned behind the lens, a series of statement menswear pieces draped over stone-faced models come clearly into focus. Each piece employs a clean, white base with disruptive graffiti scrawls imbued throughout. Of the key items featured, we see an elongated trench, boxy blazers, printed trousers, and a flowy dress smothered in bold tonal pops.
Release details for the upcoming Futura 2000 x Off-White™ collection remain vague, however, be sure to check back for details as they become available. In other Off-White™ news, check out it’s Chinese New Year collection if you haven’t already.
