Dior and Daniel Arsham have long been considered vanguards in both of their respective industries, however, over the past few years have cross-pollinated their expertise with those residing in other disciplines; high-fashion and art being two such specialties. With that said, Kim Jones and Daniel Arsham have joined forces yet again, this time on a full Spring/Summer 2020 menswear range.
The garment portion of the collection is comprised of hoodies, crewneck pullovers, T-shirts, a button-down shirt and a pair of shorts, all of which draw influence from the same creative authority. Etched across much of the garb, is DIOR branding that pass through Arsham’s brutalist design prism. Letters appear dismantled with random areas slowly eroding before our eyes. Elsewhere, a small accessories capsule, including sneakers, hat, a crossbody bag, and various charms help accentuate the statement wares.
Arsham’s take on the luxury label’s B23 sneaker presents an interesting piece. A newspaper print—now synonymous with Jones’s style direction—can be seen peering out from behind the semi-translucent upper.
