Over the years, BAPE and Dr.Martens have meshed creative juices on a series of boot and shoe designs, all of which emphasized creative touch points central to each. The high-powered duo have joined forces yet again, this time to artistically inflect the noted boot maker’s 1460 boot. Comparable to previous designs imposed by both, statement BAPE branding is seen skewed throughout, namely, on the BAPE camo print stamped across the mid foot area, heel and collar, while the Japanese stalwart’s iconic BAPESTA logo sits snugly overtop the lateral ankle area. Finally, a yellow-toned BAPE head emblem peaks out through the rear heel tag.
Fashioned from premium-grade leather, the latest BAPE rework is the first installment to come out of Dr. Martens’s new 1460 Remastered project. Highlighted over the next year, a total of 12 designers have been tapped to reinvent the signature boot, commemorating the 60-year anniversary of the famed Dr. Martens model.
“The inspiration for the design came from our most coveted BAPE STA™ sneaker. 2020 marks the 20th anniversary of the BAPE STA® sneaker so this design celebrates the anniversary of both brand’s milestones.”
