Balenciaga Koala Bushfire Relief

Short of living under a rock for the past few days, you’ve likely heard news and/or seen clips of the devastating wildfires engulfing large pockets of New South Wales and Victoria in Australia. Blanketing an area that spans roughly 1.5 million acres, the forceful inferno has since claimed the lives of 26 individuals with over one billion animal species also tragically perishing.

Balenciaga has since joined legions of others in the fight against such catastrophic bushfires. Demna Gvasalia—under the Balenciaga/Kering Group umbrella—concocted an endearing design aimed to pull on the heart strings of any and all affected. A cute koala graphic fronts a simplistic T-shirt/hoodie, doing well to showcase the marsupial’s soft facial features. As can only be expected, 100 percent of the proceeds will be going to worthy conservation organizations selected by both, the Kering Group and Balenciaga sustainability experts.

For those interested, Balenciaga’s Australia Bushfire Disaster Koala capsule will make its way to the label’s web store as of January 13. Meanwhile, in other fashion news, check out 1017 ALYX 9SM’s Moncler Genius capsule.
