Expressive street-ready wares aside, luxury labels are now in the business of producing consumer goods that extend far beyond just traditional fashion. One needs to look no further than Apple AirPods to better understand such a practice. Amassing a cult-like following shortly after its 2016 introduction, it really was only a matter of time before AirPods became the subject of countless makeovers. With that said, let’s now take a look at some noteworthy AirPod cases that have hit the scene over the past few weeks.
Adorned in the same palette as its insanely-popular track pant design, Palm Angels unveiled a rather simplistic iteration of the case, complete with a soft rubber exterior and a functional keychain/lanyard component attached on the side.
Gucci, on the other hand, shocks and awes with this jaw-dropping leather rework. Fashioned from high-quality grained leather, the high-end house blankets its iconic interlocking GG emblem all throughout, with plush gold and silver accents adding an air of opulent flair.
Saint Laurent crafts its new AirPod case from soft pebbled leather, forming a fold-over case with functional bag loops placed at the rear. The gold-hued YSL emblem landing on the front does well to compliment the textured cream exterior.
Arguably the most lavish of them all, is this animal-esque offering from the minds at Burberry. Flaunting a 100 percent patent leather construction, the exterior comes adorned in a decorative leopard-patterned print. Splashes of gold find a home on the front-side name branding and hardware clasp.
In other design news, Modernica organized a special exhibit during Paris Fashion Week.
