AMBUSH follows up its Spring/Summer 2020 capsule alongside noted retailer, MatchesFashion, with a new set of visuals for its forthcoming Fall/Winter 2020 collection. Set against a dirt-filled backdrop with potted plants occupying the lens in one scene and a stranded car held captive by the earth in another, stand straight-faced models decked out in signature wares underscored against a swarm of streetwear staples.
An eclectic mishmash of both, menswear and womenswear looks, founders, Yoon and Verbal, find ways to intersect an assortment of subcultural cues that stylishly disrupts the notion of conventional fashion codes. Classic workwear Americana is seen mixing in with punk sensitivities in an equally effective manner as does contemporary sportswear with formal suiting. Through this shrewd breadth of view is how the label scurried up the high-fashion food chain in such a short amount of time.
With a keen focus set upon outerwear, a series of time-honored silhouettes passed through the AMBUSH prism, resulting in hybridized creations that now resemble something completely different altogether. A forest green double-breasted blazer complete with a thin, peak-labelled collar is seemingly cut above the waist to reveal a raw hem line. Elsewhere, a satin-esque kimono jacket appears inflected by an elongated buckle strap. Other creative points of interest include the barrage of accessories that accompany each look, in addition to the collaborative duck boot designed alongside Converse.
