Taking a backseat to its AJ1 predecessor, the Air Jordan 4 is another sentimental favorite from Jordan Brand’s historic catalog. Teased earlier this year by the one and only DJ Khaled, we’re now granted a better look at the lineup’s new “Metallic Purple” color scheme.
The new iteration makes stylish use of a clean white base, with lively pops of purple imbued throughout the uppers. A mix of both smooth and textured leather alternate up top, while familiar mesh panels peak out from the side area and vamp regions, respectively. Elsewhere, sharp hits of purple found on the eyestay, Jumpman branding, interior lining and outsole do well to provide subtle tonal contrast to an otherwise simplistic base. Last but certainly not least, sitting down below is Nike’s air-centric midsole unit complete with a lightly-treaded outsole.
