Although Samuel Ross will be showing A-COLD-WALL*‘s Fall/Winter 2020 collection upon the runways of Milan, the British-based designer took time to unveil a conceptual installation while attending the recently-wrapped London Fashion Week: Men’s event. “SP-1 M-65” pays homage to the iconic M-65 jacket and will highlight a barrage of iterations created by Ross himself. With a laser-like focus set upon the military-inspired staple, Ross explored the boundaries of fabrication, material property, uniformity and reductive functioning in a purely modernistic fashion.
A total of seven specialist materials—all of which come sourced from some of the most revered Italian mills found anywhere—were called upon for this specific study, culminating in each piece being individually packed, cut and stitched within London. Spotted above in shades of blue and orange, with a clean jet black version also on offer, each A-COLD-WALL* M-65 jacket was then gifted to select individuals fortunate enough to have attended.
Speaking of notable fashion week presentations, Martine Rose designed a seasonal range with heavy inspiration taken from her historic catalog.
