Much like long-time friend and Been Trill co-founder, Virgil Abloh, Matthew Williams has spent a significant amount of time bouncing between two of the industries most prevalent fashion houses. Although his responsibilities to Givenchy came to a head earlier this month with the debut of his inaugural offering, Williams is just as ready to throw 1017 ALYX 9SM back into the spotlight, teasing a new collection alongside Nike.
The eight-piece capsule is comprised of a set of sportswear staples, including hooded tech-fleece zip-ups, long-sleeve crewnecks, shorts, track pants and a bra top for the ladies. Sporting a neutral palette of black, grey and a rustic olive hue, the capsule’s styling sensitivities are kept rather minimal and is left void of any major artistic tinkering; apart from signature co-branding cues fond on each. A standout piece from the range is the modified mock neck pullover, containing mesh vents sitting in the underarm section, with dual ventilation slits informed at the rear.
For those interested, 1017 ALYX 9SM and Nike’s 2020 essentials collection is now up for grabs online. In other fashion news, WACKO MARIA and Carhartt WIP recently unveiled their joint Fall/Winter 2020 collection.
