In the heart of fashion’s luxury landscape for close to 40 years now, Yohji Yamamoto has gradually expanded his main label’s creative breadth into areas outside of traditional garment design. Over the years, the Japanese design maverick has jumped head first into the highly-competitive sneaker sphere through his revolutionary Y-3 imprint, while tinkering with sporty accessory options alongside New Era. With that in mind, Yamamoto’s discord sub-label—a separate entity predicated on simplicity and asymmetry—have since enlisted the artistic direction of Globe-Trotter in entering the luggage travel market.

Together, the pair devised a sleek 20-inch trolley case combining contrasting design tenets central to each brand. Forged from vulcanized leather, the item brings the luggage maker‘s customary craftsmanship clearly into focus, while Yamamoto’s penchant for black makes its presence felt throughout. The exterior lays claim to ornamental studs strategically punctured here and there, while the interior fronts Yamamoto’s Femme Fatale artwork with stenciled graffiti scrawls randomly littered about.

Set to a retail price of $3,740 USD, the collaborative trolley case is available now online. Elsewhere in the world of design, Brain Dead serves up a new home goods lifestyle line.
