For the better part of 40 years now, Versace has been instrumental in revolutionizing fashion’s luxury landscape. From the moment the label first broke ground in the late ‘70s, Versace cut its teeth perfecting couture, ready-to-wear garms and trend-worthy accessories in a market starving for change. Central to the Italian brand’s core design tenet is the easily-recognizable Medusa head logo, which founder Gianni handpicked due to its introspective significance. Able to make people fall madly in love with her, it is believed Gianni Versace adopted the mythological figure’s approach to love, in the hopes of evoking that same emotion onto his brand.
And, with that in mind, Versace fashioned two signet ring designs exclusively for noted retailer, SSENSE. Available in sinister gun-metal and rich gold-toned brass, both rings call attention to a Medusa head encased within the famous interlocking key motif prominent within Greek mythology. Artistically similar in structure, the main difference is the laurel wreath sandwiched in between the head bust and key pattern found on the gold version.
Both Versace Medusa rings are available for purchase at SSENSE.
