For those unfamiliar with Yuta Hosokawa’s archival catalog, he has long harbored a devotion for reengineering surplus vintage textiles. In 2013, the Japanese design maverick formulated READYMADE as a way to house this artistic practice under one unified platform, which over time has ushered in a continuous flow of top-level cosigns from the game’s most prevalent players. One part case study and one part streetwear brand, READYMADE’s stance on age-old military sensitivities has left a lasting impression on those of influence resulting in collaborative ventures alongside such names as Off-White, Just Don, BAPE and Fear of God, amongst others. In other words, Hosokawa has carved out a niche of being able to repurpose with purpose.

This new weekender bag highlights the above fittingly, with Hosokawa utilizing his personal brand of textile manipulation as the piece’s chief creative touchpoint. Meant to resemble a tactical duffle, the label wraps an army-inspired olive hue around a more refined carryall option in this hybridized tote silhouette. Forged from 100 percent textured cotton, orange leather loop handles inform the top area, with a READYMADE embroidery logo upholding key brand positioning along the front.

Set to a price of $3,830 USD, this new SS20 READYMADE tote bag is now available for purchase online. Speaking of notable bags, check out New Era’s 100th anniversary capsule collection.
