Featuring iconic magazine covers.

For close to 70 years, Playboy has remained a cultural touchstone of global mainstream media. Earlier this week, however, brought news of the iconic print publication’s inevitable end. “Last week, as the disruption of the coronavirus pandemic to content production and the supply chain became clearer and clearer, we were forced to accelerate a conversation we’ve been having internally: the question of how to transform our U.S. print product,”  explained Ben Kohn, CEO of Playboy Enterprises. Not all is lost though; Playboy will take its content to a “digital first publishing schedule.”

With that in mind, streetwear mainstay, XLARGE, is set to honor the legacy of the “mens”-interest magazine through a thematic apparel drop. Littered across a range of coach jackets, T-shirts and trousers, are a host of vintage covers that have been stitched together in high-contrast collages. Available in either a vibrant multicolored palette or a subdued black and white scheme, each piece is informed by a horde of old-school prints separated only by thin black frames, with a Playboy logo badge resting on the upper left region.

Ranging in prices from $60 USD to $130 USD, you can search for the Playboy x XLARGE 2020 capsule online now. In other key collaborative fashion news, Raf Simons and Fred Perry converge on another conceptual capsule.
