Nike Remakes the Air Flight ’89 in “True Blue”

Ripping a page from the Air Jordan 3 of the same name.

Sneaker giant, Nike, has once again dipped into its own archival vault, fashioning a brand new iteration of the Air Flight ’89. The throwback hoops model hit the scene earlier this fall in a stark “Black/White” scheme, following a lengthy absence from the sneaker spotlight altogether. Originally worn by NBA icon, Scottie Pippen, the new “True Blue” colorway draws stylistic comparisons to his legendary teammate’s own signature model—referring to none other than Michael Jordan and his Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” shoe.

Famously worn by Kanye West pre adidas, the Air Flight ’89 is characterized by its distinct 5/8 silhouette and multilayered leather-constructed upper. Clean white surrounds the entire base, with sharp hits of blue peaking out from the side panel Swoosh, outsole and lining found along the ankle collar, tongue and lace shroud. Bold punches of red landing on the tongue and heel complete the snazzy trifecta colorway.

Set to a price of $120 USD, the Nike Air Flight ’89 “True Blue” is available to cop now via Nike’s online store, as well as select Nike stockists.

In case you missed it, adidas will soon drop the YEEZY 700 V3 in “Alvah.”
