N.HOOLYWOOD and UNDERCOVER have long been considered noteworthy ambassadors to the larger streetwear collective. Touted as cultural vanguards, responsible for marrying Japanese sensitivities with aesthetics borrowed from the west, Daisuke Obana and Jun Takahashi continue to inform contemporary style in their own unique ways. Initially unwrapped during N.HOOLYWOOD’s SS20 New York Fashion Week showcase, was its collaborative “REBEL FABRIC BY UNDERCOVER” capsule alongside the Takahashi-helmed imprint.
The print-heavy range points to Britain’s raucous punk scene as an inspirational touch point, which for those who can recall, alludes to a style previously employed by UNDERCOVER. A decorative pea coat is joined by a fishtail parka, blazer, button-down shirt, trousers and shorts, all of which are met with three-dimensional pockets and offset seams. Lastly, an ornamental tag, with the text “Rebel Fabric By/UNDERCOVER Jun Takahashi” can be seen etched across each piece, effectively citing the artist’s textural contribution.
The joint “REBEL FABRIC BY UNDERCOVER” capsule is currently available for purchase now through N.HOOLYWOOD’s web store. Meanwhile, in other fashion news, OAMC and fragment design joined forces on a military-influenced capsule.
