Although 2020 is less than a month in the books, Louis Vuitton has enjoyed an incredible run of things over the past few weeks, including its successful Fall/Winer 2020 Paris Fashion Week showcase. And now, womenswear director, Nicolas Ghesquière, keeps the house moving forward, with all-new Pre-Fall 2020 campaign imagery. Nostalgically riffing on old-school pulp novels, Louis Vuitton has enlisted the help of its many muses, each of whom are cloaked in the label’s vintage-inspired garb.
Each cover depicts a model dressed in a certain theme, complete with kitschy title and playful tagline. Jaden Smith, for instance, stars in “Lost Planet,” with Sophie Turner posing in front of “The Devil’s Mansion,” while Laura Herrier invites you in to play “Forbidden Games.” Other than the three listed above, Angelica Ross, Doona Bae, Alicia Vikander, Chloë Grace Moretz, Emma Roberts, and many more, also catch a spotlight in the seasonal campaign.
Ghesquière’s grasp of vintage sensitivities helps galvanize a collection that juxtaposes British heritage against subtle sportswear, with sharp formalwear elements also running rampant throughout. A thematic nod to car racing is also embedded within the collection, as can be seen in the assembly of leather driving jackets.
