Proven over and over again in just the past few years alone, Virgil Abloh is one such individual who succeeds in shaping both streetwear and luxury fashion beyond where most others are willing to go. Perched at the helm of arguably the two most relevant players within the contemporary fashion sphere—Off-White™and Louis Vuitton—the multifaceted artist’s long-term vision is an accurate informer of where the stylistic landscape is headed next. Having already teased the latter’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection upon the runways of Paris earlier this year, we’re now granted a detailed look at Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Collection FW20 ready-to-wear capsule.
Given the intended seasonal directive of the range itself, the underlying theme, as if intentionally, pays homage to the balmy breezes of spring. And as such, lively pops of red, blue, green, yellow, and purple, playfully juxtapose against each other on clean white canvasses; beautifully reminiscent of an expressive painting series. Exaggerated monogram graphics central to LV’s historic timeline can be seen strewn across knit pullovers, revere-collared button-downs, tees, and shorts, with a string of trucker hats adding a dose of fashionable flair. Elsewhere, a heavily embellished technical anorak imbued with the aforementioned renders teams fittingly alongside a punchy leather duffle; both of which speak volumes as the collection’s stand out pieces.
The entire spring/summer capsule will make its way to Louis Vuitton’s web store later this month. In other Virgil Abloh-related news, be sure to check out the new Off-White™ x Air Jordan 1 “Canary Yellow” if you haven’t already.
