Only a few days removed from this past weekend’s horrific accident, the world continues to mourn the tragic passing of NBA legend, Kobe Bryant. Fellow NBA alums, celebrity observers and hardcore Bryant fans alike, have all come together in Mamba’s name to honor the legacy he left behind, many of whom have taken to social media as a way to alleviate much of their pent up grief.

With that said, Kanye West was joined by Chance the Rapper and Kirk Franklin for an impromptu Sunday Service gospel performance. Dedicated to the memory of Kobe Bryant, Ye could be heard belting out such lyrics as, “I was driving home/They was leaving your jersey on the freeway, and I just broke down, broke down, broke down.” Just earlier, Ye hit up Twitter to honor the Laker legend, saying “Kobe, we love you brother. We’re praying for your family and appreciate the life you’ve lived and all the inspiration you gave.”

Chance joined in on the festivities, reciting his verse to “Ultralight Beam.” The song itself acts as an internal reflection of sorts, with such lyrics as, “I know that you’ll take good care of your child/Oh no longer afraid of the night/Cause I, I look to the light.”

NBA rival and long-time friend, LeBron James, also took time to honor Bryant’s memory through a heavy-hearted Instagram post. As explained by James himself, the current Laker star had difficulty coming to grips with what transpired, explaining his immediate absence from any and all social media channels.

Rest in power Mamba. Rest in peace GiGi and to all involved in the tragic incident. You will be missed.
