HAVEN officially opened its doors in 2006, and since then, has outgrown its stance as an on-trend streetwear retailer into what many consider now to be an up-and-coming garment atelier. The Canadian-based imprint returns with a new set of campaign imagery to unpack. Statement wares taken from both, NEIGHBORHOOD and WTAPS, juxtapose against the other, doing well to present looks that combine, not only two sets of design aesthetics, but a rash of subcultural cues attributed to each.
Both currently sit at the intersection of where sportswear sensitives, military codes, and heritage workwear considerations crash up amongst one another. With such unique frames of reference to pull from, Shinsuke Takizawa and Tetsu Nishiyama succeed in creating looks that address form and function, style and substance. Standout pieces include the kimono-style Hanten jacket and EC top courtesy of NEIGHBORHOOD, in addition to the WLS nylon pullovers offered up by WTAPS.
Take a look at HAVEN’s latest Fall/Winter 2019 editorial and be sure to drop by its web store to cop featured wares from both brands. In other fashion news, OAMC and fragment design co-created a new military-inspired capsule.
