Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God ESSENTIALS line has once again crossed paths with Converse. The designer’s off-shoot label has inflected a swarm of Chuck 70s in the past; the last iteration coming in the form of a smooth “Cool Grey” hue. And now, as a complementary counterpart to the “Egret/Black” version we saw back in 2018, comes a new variant that inverts the tonal flow completely, with splashes of egret doing well to underscore the heavy use of black imbued throughout.
Clean black canvas informs the upper, wrapping all the way around the lateral side and making its way towards the medial region. Healthy punches of egret break up the shoe’s somber palette, as can be seen lining the tongue and throat areas, while also finding a home along the midsole. Other points of interest include respective branding from both imprints spotted along the rear heel badge of each shoe, in addition to extra long laces that envelop the throat and thread through a rear ankle loop.
The Fear of God ESSENTIALS x Converse Chuck 70 is set to drop on February 26 for a retail price of $110 USD. Speaking of noteworthy sneaker collabs, Supreme and Nike team up on a pair of Air Force 1 Lows.
