Converse & Carhartt WIP’s Renew Chuck 70 Models Are Crafted From Upcycled Workwear

Sustainably stylish.

Over the course of its historic run, which is still as strong today as it was all those years ago, Converse’s Chuck 70 silhouette has undergone its fair share of artistic reworks. One of the most appealing, if not, meaningful variations to hit the scene in the last little while is this structurally innovative piece designed by Carhartt WIP. Converse’s latest Renew Chuck 70 model is fashioned from an assortment of vintage Carhartt work jackets, trousers and overalls, adding an air of sustainable flair to one of the most admired streetwear staples ever created.

First sorted into three distinct tonal options—brown, navy and black—each individual textile has been cut to form separate Chuck 70 panels to be pieced together later. The upcylced fabrics were woven together in a tri-panel formation to properly justify each of the individual colors. Furthermore, with each textile adhering to its own own unique patina, no two pairs from the collaborative drop are the same.

The Carhartt WIP x Converse Renew Chuck 70 will be ready for purchase starting May 28 and will be made available through Converse’s web store and Carhartt WIP’s website. In other sneaker news, Vans and Fergus Purcell released an Acid Wash collection.
