Although its roots stem from heritage-style workwear, Carhartt WIP continues to steady its ascent into the thick of the streetwear industry. Over the years, the brand has co-designed capsule collections alongside some of the game’s most recognizable talent, including the likes of Converse, Junya Watanabe, WACKO MARIA, amongst many others. Carhartt is on the verge of expanding its creative breadth yet again, this time with a collaborative offering that intersects unique style sensitivities against its own distinct design language. The American label is gearing up to shock and awe with its latest venture that intertwines design, fashion and music philosophies in a hyper-creative, yet stylistic manner.
Carhartt WIP has since enlisted the help of six independent record labels in crafting a thematic collection that borrows its name from the brand’s new podcast series. “Relevant Parties Vol. 1” can best be described as a multidisciplinary offering that sees a mix of streetwear staples drop alongside a series of podcast episodes. Branded emblems from the likes of DFA, Ghostly International, Jazzy Sport, Ninja Tune, Stones Throw and Public Possession are seen imbued across a range of stylized hoodies, long-sleeve crewnecks and tees. A second volume of “Relevant Parties,” celebrating another six independent labels is believed to drop sometime next year.
