AMBUSH has enjoyed a significant run of things over the past few years, breaking out from its on-the-rise accessory maker shell into a full-fledged cut-and-sew fashion house. With that in mind, the Japanese-based brand has since joined forces with noted retailer, MatchesFashion, for the Spring/Summer 2020 season. Known primarily for its innovative design language, which over the years has included the use of metallics, studs and other such ornamental accents, AMBUSH, this time around, preached artistic restraint.
Led by husband and wife team of Yoon and Verbal, the pair chose to simplify the design process, bringing to the table a range of pieces that intersect sound sportswear and military-inspired properties. Ombre-accented pullovers, branded crewnecks and printed T-shirts make up the majority of the collection, with a trio of jacket options set as the standalone outerwear pieces. The high-collared fleece zip-up stands apart from the lot, as does the brand’s interpretation of the M-65 field jacket. Available in both, bright orange and jet black, the waist length piece features a closed placket zip mechanism, vertical-style side compartments, and a variety of drawstring chords.
Last, but certainly not least, AMBUSH revisited its core design tenet, opting to round out the collection with a small selection of sterling silver accessory items. The MatchesFashion x AMBUSH capsule is available now via MatchesFashion’s official web store.
In keeping with noteworthy collaborations, Modernica organized a grand exhibit at Paris Fashion Week. In doing so, the furniture purveyor assembled collaborative works from a handful of notable names.
