When Moncler Genius first debuted its “One House, Different Voices” presentation during Milan Fashion Week last winter, the Italian outerwear brand assembled a who’s who list of designers, including the likes of Hiroshi Fujiwara, Palm Angels and Simone Rocha, just to name a few. 1017 ALYX 9SM’s very own Matthew Williams was also pegged to rework a series of classics, using his very own tactically-informed DNA as a creative anchor. What ensued was an assembly line presentation of signature Moncler coats—twisted, of course, by Williams’s flair for the dramatic.

And now, almost a year removed from the aforementioned showing, Williams has finally revealed his contribution in its entirety. Elaborate-shaped parkas—known primarily for its functional properties—travel through ALYX’s technical prism by way of industrialized buckles. Elsewhere, chain link belts, chest rigs, cross-body pouches, hooded backpacks and neoprene-fashioned ankle boots also surface throughout, rounding out a collection that explores both perspectives through and through.

Statement wares aside, the partnership paved the way for Williams to further his label’s tailoring techniques. As such, a sizable portion of the range centers around the use of Econyl—regenerated nylon derived from salvaged waste materials and recovered plastic taken from the sea.

The collection in full is available for purchase now via Moncler’s web store. Meanwhile, in other fashion news, Stone Island recently unveiled its new SS20 Ghost range.
