Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 1 silhouette has seen its fair share of reworks over the past few years, several stemming from some of the most prolific minds within the industry today. A quick look back at the sneaker’s collaborative footprint, goes on to reveal projects alongside CLOT, Dior, fragment design, and Off-White™, just to name a few. Brand new to the catalog, is this uber flashy Air Jordan 1 Mid “Disco Ball” iteration.
The uppers draw attention to a metallic silver grid pattern that closely resembles a Studio 54-style disco ball. Perforated grey mesh smothers the tongue, providing the only form of material contrast found anywhere, however, does call attention to the patent leather badge resting behind Nike-related embroidery details. Elsewhere, a patent leather Swoosh envelops the lateral side, while red velvet insoles—alluding to the proverbial curtain used by clubs to stylishly isolate VIP areas—supply the finishing touch to the opulent runner.
The new Air Jordan 1 Mid “Flashing Lights” will retail for a price of $125 USD and will make its way to Nike SNKRS on February 1. In case you missed it earlier, Nike and maharishi team up on a new Air Max 720 variant.
