adidas Applies BOOST Technology to the adilette Slides

It was only a matter of time.

For years, Nike and adidas have stood toe-to-toe, trading blows in what many consider to be a highly-competitive, yet increasingly fickle sneaker market. While some—depending on who you talk to—still feel that Nike lays claim to the current crown, most, if not all would agree that adidas closed the gap with the introduction of its BOOST footbed technology. A quick investigation into the brand’s infamous UltraBOOST and NMD models will surely highlight the sheer importance of the styrofoam-style cushioning.

In a rather surprising turn of events, the German-based sportswear titan has since applied BOOST tech onto the adilette slides—marking the first time it has touched sandals of any kind. A sharp, yet understated mix of black and white catch the eye, with the former landing on the branded footbed and leather forefoot strap. Creatively on par with the aforementioned UltraBOOST model, adidas chose to bless the new slides with the same outsole found on the UltraBOOST 20.

Blurring the line between sporty runner and comfy sandal, the all-new BOOST-enabled adidas adilette retails for $60 USD, and can be found now through the adidas web store. Speaking of noteworthy footwear, Dior remade the B23 High in “Bleu.”
