A-COLD-WALL* Rallies Around Clean Sophistication for Fall/Winter 2020

Milan Fashion Week debut.
Milan fashion week a cold wall runway

Since breaking out onto the scene only five short years ago, Samuel Ross and his A-COLD-WALL* imprint have pushed contemporary streetwear to all new heights. Ross has blessed the masses with a style aesthetic as unique as is groundbreaking, redefining traditional menswear codes through raw industrial disruption. A quick look at the designer’s vast archive goes on to reveal creations that blur the line between, British heritage and progressive sportswear with age-old military cues underpinned throughout.

A-COLD-WALL* recently made its Milan Fashion Week debut to showcase its upcoming Fall/Winter 2020 collection. The idea of “a working man at the heart of his community, whether as artisan, writer, sculptor or industrial designer” was used as an inspirational touchpoint of sorts. With a comprehensive range of disciplines to pull from, Ross assembled looks that touched on everything from formal suiting and casual chic to protective outerwear and functional layering. As such, the artist juxtaposed tech-infused sportswear against clean sophistication.

Arguably one of Ross’s most pared back offerings to date, a range of structured blazers, wide-legged trousers and sharply-collared button-downs hit an all-time high, with just enough casual comfort to go around. Progressive outerwear was placed high atop the label’s priority list, bringing to the table an array of double-breasted blazers, elongated overcoats, rain Macs, field jackets, aviators, and pea coats, just to name a few. Cuts hung loose from the body with A-COLD-WALL* bringing an air intentional restraint to the party.
